When I first started blogging while on maternity leave, I promised myself (and many other people) that I would continue when I went back to work. Not going so well so far. I’ve been back for 4 weeks now and all I have to show for it are a few drafts about Christmas that were never posted. But I’m determined to change that. This blog is extremely important to me… I know that our family and friends want to keep up with Hudson and I like the idea of continually ‘scrapbooking’. I hope to never have to compile years and years of photos and stories at a later time- guessing when pictures were taken, how old Hudson was, what we were doing, or why we were even taking the pictures.
So I guess this is my New Year’s resolution (starting today- January 28th). I will keep up with all of you as often as I can. It won’t be easy… I have been working 60+ hour weeks and I still have to spend as much time with Hudson as I can. I no longer have day time naps to take advantage of. But no excuses. I’ll think of you all as my accountability partners.
So today I’ll just catch you up. But… I still plan on posting my drafts about Christmas. It will most likely be in February. Can that be a thing? “Christmas in February”? Doesn’t have the same ring as “Christmas in July”, but maybe it will catch on. If so, it would really make me feel better about not having our decorations down yet (whoops… that was one of those things that should probably stay hidden)
New Year’s Day
(yes, he is huge… double chin and all)
Making crafts… I needed a white footprint in a frame for Hudson’s room. The paint ended up in places other than his feet (he helped us out with his nose, but my mom added the marks on his forehead). It took several tries, and we ended trying both feet. I’ll show you the end results later.
One of Hudson’s favorite things right now is his johnny jumper. He could spend hours jumping. Sometimes he doesn’t want to get out. On Christmas morning while we were getting ready, he fell asleep in the jumper. Of course I ran around looking for my camera and was thankful that he was still asleep once I found it. This doesn’t look very comfortable, does it? Luckily it didn’t give him a crick in his neck.
He was the only man allowed at Alecia’s wedding shower
He is eating baby food and oatmeal cereal (and making a mess)
So after he’s a mess, of course he needs a bath. He has outgrown the sink. Outgrown the newborn/infant/toddler bathtub. Now we are in the Bumpo in the tub. It’s becoming a big issue. My 5 month old son is outgrowing the car seat, the stroller, and of course all of his clothes. I thought I had more time.
Just hanging out…
Here is Hudson ‘swimming’. He picks up his arms and legs at the same time and squirms around. Not quite grasping the crawling concept.
