First Beach Trip

So it was over 3 months ago, but in the spirit of 'better late than never'...

Look at those chubby cheeks

Shane and my dad fished all day, but unfortunately didn't catch anything.

We found a shady spot to hang out in...

Here's Hudson's first fist-full (and then mouth-full) of sand.  Someday Hudson is going to see this and think, 'If you stopped taking pictures, you could probably have prevented me from putting it in my mouth'.  Oh well, you win some, you lose some - and sometimes your child just eats the sand.

Have I fully explained my fear (HATRED) of birds?  That's another story for another day.  But I am about point 2 seconds from freaking out!

Ahh Topina Cominichinawa Zenwana... And that's my rendition of the Circle of Life.

Our Trip to Roswell

A few weekends ago, Hudson and I made a last minute trip to visit one of my best friends.  Michelle has 3 adorable boys and I was a little skeptical of Hudson's reaction.  He hasn't been exposed to a lot of other babies and recently he has been weary of new people.  So as a test to immersion therapy I dropped Hudson in the middle.  He was a little hesitant, but overall no major melt downs.

We even shared bathtime.
Hudson tried on the Thing 1 (or maybe Thing 2) wig that Michelle made for the twins' first birthday.  He's not really sure what to think about it.

Here is Hudson in the midst of his half crawl.  He's not really sure about Sam, we don't quite have a play toy like that at home.

And precious Teddy, I think... (Sorry, Michelle)  Sometimes I think I am really good at telling them apart, but when I don't have both of them together I am basically just guessing.

We were able to meet up with my sister, Jessica.

My sunglasses broke the day before we went skiing and luckily (or unluckily, for those that had to look at me wearing them) I was able to pick up a free pair from a treasure chest in Keystone.  Yes, I did say treasure chest.  While we were out in Roswell, we found a matching pair of baby sunglasses.
We are two cool dudes, right?
 Pooped out!

And of course when Michelle and I get together we are going to stage a photo shoot.

7 months and counting...

Here are a few pictures of Hudson at 7 months.  He is crawling all over the place on his belly.  He gets into everything... Of course he's instantly attracted to outlets, cords, and anything breakable.  We are baby-proofing the house as fast as we can.  And he has 6 teeth!  I'm still waiting on a mouth-wide-open shot so you can all see those chompers.  I'll keep you posted.

Look, he's already got the 'back off paparazzi' move down.

I am not supposed to be in this picture.  Shane was supposed to be taking pictures of Hudson and the blooming azaleas- I was just there trying to get a smile.  Hudson looks confused, not amused.

6, and 7, and almost 8 months

Well we have a new computer!!! Which means no more excuses.

For Hudson's 6 month pictures, we went to my favorite place in Birmingham- on top of Red Mountain overlooking downtown.  It was a picture perfect day.

Have I mentioned that this (my favorite place in Birmingham) is someone's home?  Technically we were trespassing.  Five minutes after our gang arrived the owner came down the stairs.  I asked permission and fortunately she was extremely understanding (and not at all surprised) and our photo shoot- complete with props and a wardrobe change- was back under way.

This one is going in my office.  I love it!

The home we were "visiting" has a golden retriever which lives in the road.  That sounds worse than it is, considering only one car can come through at a time, and the maximum speed is less than 10 miles an hour.

So this golden retriever mosies right up to us...

 checks out Hudson...
 and has a seat...
He (or she... didn't feel the need to check out that minor detail) actually poses for the camera.
We actually had to shoo him (or her) off so we could get back to business.
For some reason this picture reminds me of Full House.  Think: the opening credits of the Tanners' picnicing in a park in San Francisco (...Now flash to the Golden Gate Bridge...).  Am I the only one that watched way too much Full House growing up?

Remember the fore mentioned wardrobe change?

 And the props?

Overall it was a great day, with great pictures.  7 months coming tomorrow.
